City Hotel Nieuw Minerva is located in the historic centre of Leiden, within walking distance of shops, restaurant, museums and the train station. The hotel is situated in a 16th century canal house on the bank of the Old Rhine. Schiphol Airport is a 20 minutes drive away. The beaches of Noordwijk can be found at only 10 kilometres from the hotel.
Leiden is situated between the motor ways A4 and A44. Trains from all directions stop at Leiden Central Station. There are various pay and display car parks in the vicinity of the hotel (day-cards are available, costing between €12 and €14). On the canal bank in front of the hotel mooring for boats is available.
Leiden is a very vivacious town and is well known for its rich history. The monumental inner city is characterised by the many old alleys, canals, town gates and almshouses. Leiden has a total of more than 2800 monuments. The inner city is best discovered and explored by foot.
